We are recruiting for the permanent full-time position of a butcher working 43 hours a week. (£12.00 per hour). The successful candidate will be a keen, enthusiastic individual with a high level of self-motivation and have several years’ experience as a block man within butchery. They should also be flexible, providing support to both the Butchery and customer facing roles at the sales counter and over the telephone.
The principal duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Handling meat products
Cutting and de-boning meat
Trimming
Operation of meat machinery
Working in a chilled food environment
Adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Adhere to Company health and safety standards
Ensure Standard Operating Methods including stock control and reordering
The Right Person for the Job
You will be someone who has a customer focus as well as a mastery of butchery and is happy to take instruction on occasion as well as take your own initiative. You will value and integrate well with other members of the team and operatives within the business. In addition, you will have the following skills:
A minimum of 3 years previous butchery skills and experience
A focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
Manually dexterous
Team worker
Self-motivated with a desire to demonstrate your skill and knowledge
Good time keeping and attendance is essential
Reliable, conscientious, and flexible to the business needs
