Farrington’s Farm is a family-run Farm Shop based at Home Farm, an idyllic 400 acre working farm in the Somerset village of Farrington Gurney. We produce an array of organic vegetables which we grow and sell in our Farm Shop. Also on site is a Café, a Playbarn (children's soft play), an outdoor Farm Park and various other independent retail units. We host a number of large scale events throughout the year including our well-known Pumpkin Festival in October.

The role: As Deli Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the Deli, ensuring a positive experience for customers. Your responsibilities include taking responsibility for the deli operations, training other staff members on deli procedures, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and contributing to the overall success of the Deli department. Your Line Manager will be the Farm Shop & Deli Manager.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Prepare and serve a variety of deli items on the deli counter

  • Advise customers using in depth product knowledge

  • Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the deli area as well as ensuring the displays look aesthetically pleasing

  • Control stock levels and order deli products as needed

  • Provide exceptional customer service and address customer enquiries/concerns

  • Follow all food safety and health & safety regulations

  • Contribute to ideas and strategies to enhance the customer experience and increase deli sales


  • Previous experience in a deli or food service setting is essential, as well as a passion for food

  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safe handling practices

  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently


  • Teamwork - the ability to work effectively as part of a team and lead by example

  • Customer service & communication - provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers, willingness to assist customers with their needs and provide excellent service

  • Supervision - ability to oversee tasks and ensure efficient operations

  • Organisation - strong organisational and multitasking abilities

We are open 7 days a week so weekend availability is essential

21 days holiday plus the equivalent number of bank holiday days in that year

Salary: £11.00-£11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
