WE ARE RECRUITING A CAFE & RESTAURANT SUPERVISOR

Farrington’s Farm is based at Home Farm, an idyllic 400 acre working farm in the Somerset village of Farrington Gurney. Farrington's has a Farm Shop, Café & Restaurant, Playbarn and shopping village on site.

Our busy Café and Restaurant is at the heart of our operation. We create fresh seasonal menus with a big emphasis on local ingredients. We're a busy breakfast and lunch venue, open from 9am - 5pm each day, through out the year.

The Role

You’ll play a vital role in the smooth running of our Café & Restaurant, working closely with the department management team to create a professional and welcoming environment for our guests.

We're looking for someone who enjoys hospitality with a passion for hosting and welcoming guests. Excellent people skills are required for this role, as we want every guest to have a special, memorable visit every time they come to see us. You'll also be leading shifts with a large team during busy periods and so a calm, organised & personable approach will be required when working on shift.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with supervisor or hospitality experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.

Due to our opening hours, we do not expect employees to work evenings or split shifts. We aim to give our shift supervisors every other weekend off, with the exception of key event dates during the year.

Key responsibilities:

✔ Assist in the daily operations of the Café & Restaurant including opening and closing procedures

✔ Lead shifts in the absence of the Assistant Manager or Manager

✔ Supervise, train and support team members to deliver excellent service

✔ Ensure safety, cleanliness and compliance with health & hygiene standards

✔ Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve queries professionally

✔ Help monitor stock levels, food & beverage quality and presentation standards

✔ Contribute to marketing initiatives and special events

✔ Assist with responding to booking enquiries and customer queries.

• Previous experience in a hospitality supervisory role

• Strong leadership with a friendly approach

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities

• A proactive, organised and hands-on approach

• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays

This is a full time position, with a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts. Shifts are generally 8-9 hours and fall between 8am - 5.30pm.
