Farrington’s Farm is based on an idyllic 400-acre working farm in the Somerset village of Farrington Gurney, just a short drive from Bristol and Bath. Located on the main site is a Farm Shop, Cafe, Playbarn, Chip Shop and Farm Park. Not only do we grow organic vegetables and potatoes, we also grow a number of pick-you-own crops for our customers including sunflowers, tulips, dahlias and pumpkins!
We are currently seeking confident, adaptable and enthusiastic individuals (who don't mind getting their hands dirty!) to join our event team to assist with the smooth running our popular Pumpkin Festival this October. We are looking our staff to be helpful and authentic with our customers at all times giving them the best possible visit. Our team members really make the difference to the customer experience.
Requirements:
A flexible and positive attitude
Previous event / customer service experience is preferred but training will be given
Physical fitness and the ability to be on your feet all day in various weather conditions
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Must be at least 16 years old
Must be able to commute to Farrington Gurney, BS39 6UB
The role is diverse and hands-on, but we will endeavour to place you in a position to best suit your skill set. Please be aware that most roles will involve you being on your feet for most of the day. Duties include (but not limited to):
Checking customers in through the ticketing system
Measuring pumpkins and taking payment on till
Marshalling the pumpkin field
Collecting wheelbarrows from around site and returning to field entrance
Car park marshalling
Providing customers with event information
You must be available to work the majority of following dates: 6th-8th, 13th-15th, 19th-29th October. There may be additional work available in late September for the right candidate. Shifts will fall between 8.30am-5.30pm daily.
You must be available for a short staff induction session (max 1 hour) at 6pm on 3rd October. Successful applicants may be offered permanent positions at the end of the event should we have job opportunities available. Please make sure that you can easily travel to the village of Farrington Gurney (BS39 6UB), please check your commute before applying.
Contract length: 4 weeks Pay rate: £5.75 - £10.70 per hour (depending on age) Expected start date: 6th October 2023
