As you look at the delivery slots available on your online shopping cart and the next available slot is three weeks away, think again. Here at Farrington’s we really want to help our local community in these hard and unprecedented times. We have shifted our business model quickly to now offer a collection and delivery service. We feel a sense of responsibility within our community at this difficult time and we want to support all of our customers that have supported us over the years. We know that many of our customers may be struggling to get food or may be in isolation so we are now offering a food box ordering service. We are working with a group of very kind local volunteers who are delivering our food boxes. We are also offering a collection service to those who can collect from our Farm Shop. We have adopted strict social distancing measure to keep both our staff and our customers safe.
Our ethos has always been to support all of the wonderful farmers who operate their businesses near ours and this has been key to us being able to keep most of our food groups in stock at this difficult time. We are not relying on food coming from overseas, we are not reliant on aeroplanes flying us food from across the globe we have enough local suppliers to support us with the best local produce. Our new Essentials Box for example includes milk from Midway Dairy Farm which is based in Radstock, bread from Pullen’s Bakery based in Bristol and our free range eggs come from Greenacre Farm in Chew Valley. Our butter is churned in Somerset and we use cheese supplied from Glastonbury. We don't rely on food shipped from around the globe to feed our community, we really do like to provide you with the best local produce. You are not only supporting us but you are supporting our whole network of local producers. So thank you from all of us.
Not only are we lucky enough to have great relationships with local farmers we also have our very own production kitchen which produces an array of home cooked produce including jams, chutneys, ready meals, pies, pastries, cakes and much more. We have the flexibility to focus on using seasonal vegetables from our farm to produce the best seasonal dishes for you to enjoy. Our ingredients mainly come from three places; our homegrown crops from the farm, our master butcher’s locally sourced meats and local suppliers. All of our dishes are produced in a way that you would at home. We do not use preservatives or nasties in any of our dishes. We really do produce food the honest way.
These uncertain times really highlight how important it is to support each other locally, not just now, but ALWAYS.
