Farrington’s Farm is a family-run farm shop set on a stunning 400-acre working farm in the heart of Somerset. We’re passionate about fresh, local produce and creating a welcoming experience for every customer.
On site we have a farm shop, café, playbarn, outdoor farm park and host popular seasonal events, including our well-known Pumpkin Picking event.
The role
Farrington's Farm requires confident and reliable temporary staff to help with the smooth running of the annual pumpkin picking event during October.
Previous event or customer-facing experience is a considerable advantage, although training will be provided. A flexible and positive attitude is essential as well as having strong customer service skills. Our team members really make the difference to the customer experience!
The role is diverse and hands-on (be prepared to get your hands dirty!), but we will endeavour to place you in a position to best suit your skill set.
Duties include:
Checking customers in through the ticketing system
Serving on a checkout with a simple till system
Marshalling the pumpkin field
Retrieving wheelbarrows from around the site
Car park marshalling
Providing customers with event information
Requirements:
You must be available to work the majority of following dates: 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 23rd - 31st October. Limited availability during these dates may affect your chances of recruitment. There may be additional farm work available in late September/early October for the right candidate. Shifts will fall between 8.30am-5.30pm daily.
You must be available for an induction session on Monday 5th October at 5pm for 1 hour. Successful applicants may be offered permanent positions at the end of the event should there be any positions available.
Please make sure that you can easily travel to the village of Farrington Gurney, check your commute before applying.
This role would suit students (or teachers!), as shifts are on weekends and during half term, but you must be at least 16 years old to apply.
Pay: £9.30 - £14.50 per hour depending on age (includes holiday pay as a temporary staff member).
